Barcelona, 2024
Held in Barcelona since 2011, the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) has established itself as the leading global event dedicated to the future of cities. Its mission is to drive sustainable urban development and promote international collaboration by connecting cities, sharing innovative solutions and fostering a collective vision that contributes to creating more inclusive and liveable environments for all.
Throughout its editions, SCEWC has been recognised as the international benchmark for urban innovation, strengthening the role of cities and facilitating global cooperation in the transformation of urban spaces.
In this context, the artistic direction and design of various areas of the venue — including the theatres and the overall aesthetics of the common areas — have been key elements of the 2024 project. During the creative process, a unique concept took shape, based on the development of architectural modules in the form of wooden carts, which have distinctly characterised the spatial experience of the event.
